Its construction is aimed at premium capacitors applications and uses a paper-in-oil approach with WPIO impregnation to enhance sonic performance and durability.

Duelund’s CAST design builds on the Virtual Stack Foil principle, originally developed to reduce losses, distortion, and microphonics. The proprietary WPIO dielectric requires several days of high-pressure impregnation, creating a heavily damped structure with exceptional mechanical stability. This makes it especially well suited to high-quality crossover components and critical signal paths.

The capacitor is designed for a wide range of audio uses, including crossover networks, signal coupling, bypassing, and filtering. It can be applied in speakers, amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs, CD players, and other high-resolution audio equipment where stable, low-coloration component behavior is desired.

Duelund CAST capacitors are built with strong attention to damping and craftsmanship. A hard-pressed paper ring further supports the damping properties of the construction, while Duelund DCA16GA wire readouts are used for the lead-outs.
