CSS SDX10 10″ XBL^2 Subwoofer

The CSS SDX10 uses an improved, larger motor structure designed around XBL^2 technology. This produces an exceptionally broad BL curve, giving the subwoofer strong linear excursion capability for deep, controlled bass. With 22 mm excursion capability at the 20% distortion subwoofer criterion, it is built for demanding low-frequency systems.

The moving assembly combines a paper and carbon-fiber blended cone with a natural butyl rubber surround and a semi-progressive spider. Together with the cast frame, this construction supports stability, damping and long-travel control. Shorting rings inside the motor help reduce distortion and keep inductance changes minimal across the operating bandwidth.

Although the SDX10 is highly capable in deep-bass applications, it is not limited to subwoofer duty. Its low-inductance motor gives it a wide, flat usable bandwidth, making it suitable as a woofer in a 3-way loudspeaker design, or even in a 2-way system when paired with a waveguide.

The driver features a 60.6 mm diameter, 6-layer voice coil and handles 750 W RMS with 1500 W peak capability. Key parameters include 3.89 ohm DC resistance, 314.16 cm² cone area and a large-signal resonance frequency of 16.98 Hz, reflecting its focus on powerful, extended low-frequency output.
