Lundahl LL1627-185 Output Transformer for Tube Amplifiers 185 mA
The LL1627-185 is designed for tube amplifiers using high-current output stages. The LL1627 type is the low-impedance member of this Lundahl output transformer family, making it suitable where tubes such as the 6C33 require lower primary load impedance and higher current capability.
As a precision audio component, the transformer uses highly sectioned windings with harmonically sized sections to minimize leakage inductance. Combined with Lundahl’s low-capacitance coil winding technique, this supports a wide frequency range and stable performance in demanding tube amplifier circuits.
The LL1627-185 subtype is gapped for 185 mA DC current and has a primary inductance of 9 H at the recommended operating point. Depending on the selected secondary connection for 4 Ω, 8 Ω or 16 Ω speakers, the LL1627 provides primary load impedance alternatives of 2.3 kΩ, 1.2 kΩ and 0.65 kΩ, with transformer copper resistance included.
The open-frame design is intended for mounting inside an amplifier housing. Practical installation details include 5.08 mm pin spacing, 4 x M4 mounting holes and a 2.5 kg transformer weight. Isolation is specified at 3 kV between primary and secondary windings and 1.5 kV between windings and core.
