Tang Band PR08-A Subwoofer bundle with W2-2040S 2″ micro subwoofer and PR08 passive radiator

The Tang Band PR08-A is a compact subwoofer bundle built around the W2-2040S 2″ RBM micro subwoofer and the PR08 square passive radiator. It is intended for small-format audio projects where low-frequency output is required from a very limited cabinet volume.

The W2-2040S uses Tang Band’s Real Balanced Mode design with two cones and two surrounds for controlled low-frequency reproduction. Its patented symmetrical suspension supports ultra-linear movement, while the neodymium magnet system and 5.3 mm Xmax help deliver useful bass performance from a very small driver.

The PR08 passive radiator features a patented wave-shape structure and co-injection molding technology. This construction is designed to balance internal loss with reduced elastic damping, supporting effective passive-radiator tuning in compact speaker designs.

For enclosure design, the recommended cabinet volume is 0.5 L, with F0 at 68 Hz and F3 at 62 Hz using a total moving mass of 20 g. Tang Band suggests 15 W RMS amplifier power, with a 65 Hz high-pass filter and 160 Hz low-pass filter, both at -12 dB/octave. The bundle contains 1 pc W2-2040S and 1 pc PR08; cabinet and other accessories are not included.
